History:

Nuuk Internationale Friskolen (NIF) is the only International school within Greenland and is located in the capital Nuuk. NIF was established in August 2006 by a group of parents. At that time we started with grades 1 – 4. Today, we have grades 1-6, this means we were able to continuously establish a new class each year.

Language:

NIF has a three-language culture: Danish, Greenlandic and English. Greenlandic and English are offered from Grade 1. All students are required to learn Greenlandic, the language of the host country.

Facilities:

The school building includes the “Nuan”, the after-school care, and a community room. In addition a music room and more class rooms are planned for 2009. All Class rooms are bright and colourful.

After-school care:

The “Nuan” offers supervised projects and free time activities during the afternoon. The opening hours are from 07:30 – 17:00. During the school holidays the opening hours are from 07:30 – 15:00.
