Nuuk Internationale Friskole is run by the school board. The school board consists of 7 members, elected directly at the general meeting. At least 4 members are choosen by the parents respectively of the guardians of current students at NIF. These 4 parent school board members must have a child who attends NIF.
The Headmaster serves as the lead administrator and pedagog in the school in the every day school life.
Nuuk Internationale Friskole is divided into 2 sections: primary/secondary school and after school care (NUAN).
